Fan of fine automobiles? Then you’ll most certainly want to check out the Miami Auto Show this October—the 48th iteration of this awesome car exhibition, one of the biggest of its kind in the nation.
All the chrome-tastic action goes down at the Miami Convention Center Friday, October 5th through Sunday, October 14th. When the Miami Auto Show vroomed into existence back in 1971—at the Miami Beach Convention Center, mind you, its home sweet home from Day One—it was among a mere five big-time showcases of the latest automotive models on the market. Some 200 to 300 models, most of them American-made, starred in that inaugural edition of the Miami Auto Show, with a few prestigious foreign brands—from Alfa-Romeo and Citroen to Renault and Triumph—in the mix.
Needless to say, the Miami Auto Show has grown by leaps and bounds since, but the spirit of the original event—showing off cutting-edge vehicles while also celebrating oldies-but-goodies through nostalgic exhibitions such as Memory Lane—remains the same, as does the organizer: the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association, 190-dealerships strong these days.
At the 48th annual Miami Auto Show this October, you’ll see some truly spectacular rides arrayed on the Show Floor, plus a feast of vintage machines courtesy of the Classic Cars display overseen by the Antique Automobile Club of America’s South Florida Region.

Easily among the most popular happenings at the Miami Auto Show are the Ride & Drive events, which give you the opportunity to slip into the driver’s seat of superb new cars fresh off the production line. Depending on what set of wheels you’re eyeing, you’ll need to be 18 or 21 years of age.
